Wonton Filling and Sauce

Method

Preparation and Cooking

1

Prepare the Filling

In a bowl, mix the shredded Monterey Jack cheese with a pinch of salt until well combined.

2

Fill the Wontons

Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Spoon about 1 tsp of the cheese mixture into the center of the wrapper. Moisten the edges with a little water, then fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle, pressing the edges to seal. You can also fold the corners into the center if you prefer a different shape.

3

Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot (around 350°F or 175°C).

4

Fry the Wontons

Carefully add the filled wontons to the hot oil in batches, avoiding overcrowding. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

5

Make the Honey Mustard Sauce

In a small bowl, combine honey and Dijon mustard. Mix well until smooth.

6

Serve

Serve the hot cheese wontons with the honey mustard sauce on the side for dipping.
