Base Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of heavy cream, 1 cup of whole milk, 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.

  2. 2

    Whisk Together

Using a whisk or an electric mixer, mix the ingredients until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture is well combined. This should take about 2-3 minutes.

  3. 3

    Chill the Mixture

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator. Chill for at least 1 hour or until completely cold.

Churning

  1. 4

    Prepare Ice Cream Maker

Make sure your ice cream maker is assembled according to the manufacturer's instructions and is chilled if required.

  2. 5

    Churn the Ice Cream

Pour the chilled mixture into the ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions. This usually takes about 20-25 minutes, or until the ice cream reaches a soft-serve consistency.

Freezing

  1. 6

    Transfer to Container

Once the ice cream is churned, transfer it to an airtight container.

  2. 7

    Freeze

Cover the container with a lid and freeze the ice cream for at least 2 hours to firm up before serving.

Serving

  1. 8

    Scoop and Serve

Once the ice cream is fully frozen, scoop out 2 generous scoops and serve in a bowl or cone. Enjoy your homemade vanilla ice cream!
