Method

Crust Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Mix the Crust Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Stir until the mixture is well combined and resembles wet sand.

  3. 3

    Press the Crust Mixture

Press the crust mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan, ensuring it is even and packed tightly.

  4. 4

    Bake the Crust

Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove and let cool while preparing the filling.

Filling Preparation

  1. 5

    Beat the Cream Cheese

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.

  2. 6

    Add Sugar and Flour

Gradually add the granulated sugar and flour to the cream cheese, mixing until combined and smooth.

  3. 7

    Incorporate Sour Cream and Vanilla

Add in the sour cream and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.

  4. 8

    Add Eggs

Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.

  5. 9

    Pour Filling into Crust

Pour the cheesecake filling into the cooled crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.

  6. 10

    Bake the Cheesecake

Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.

  7. 11

    Cool and Chill

Turn off the oven and crack the oven door, letting the cheesecake cool in the oven for 1 hour. Then transfer to the refrigerator and chill for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Topping Preparation

  1. 12

    Prepare the Topping (Optional)

If desired, top the chilled cheesecake with sliced fresh strawberries and drizzle with strawberry preserves before serving.
