Method

Meatball Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, minced garlic, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.

  3. 3

    Form Meatballs

With your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. 4

    Bake Meatballs

Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are cooked through and browned.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 5

    Heat Marinara Sauce

While the meatballs are baking, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat until hot.

  2. 6

    Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Once the meatballs are done, add them to the saucepan with the heated marinara sauce. Stir gently to coat the meatballs.

  3. 7

    Prepare Sub Rolls

Brush the sub rolls with olive oil and lightly toast them in the oven for about 3-5 minutes, or until golden.

  4. 8

    Assemble Sandwiches

Place a few meatballs and sauce into each toasted sub roll. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.

  5. 9

    Melt Cheese

Return the assembled sandwiches to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  6. 10

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from the oven, garnish with additional parsley if desired, and serve hot.
