Brownie Base

Method

Brownie Base Preparation

  1. 1

    Melt the Butter

In a medium saucepan, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter over low heat. Remove from heat once melted.

  2. 2

    Mix Sugars

Stir in 2 cups of granulated sugar and 1 cup of brown sugar into the melted butter until fully combined.

  3. 3

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add 4 large eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract.

  4. 4

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, and 1 teaspoon of salt.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.

  6. 6

    Add Chocolate Chips

Fold in 1 cup of chocolate chips into the brownie batter.

  7. 7

    Prepare Baking Pan

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  8. 8

    Bake the Brownies

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and smooth out the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  9. 9

    Cool the Brownies

Once baked, remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Assembly

  1. 10

    Scoop Ice Cream

Once the brownies are cooled, cut them into squares and place a brownie square on a serving plate.

  2. 11

    Add Ice Cream and Toppings

Top each brownie square with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, then drizzle with 1/4 cup of chocolate sauce. Add whipped cream on top.

  3. 12

    Finish with Garnish

Sprinkle with chopped nuts (if using) and place a maraschino cherry on top of each serving.
