Pork Steak

BBQ Sauce

Method

Preparing the Pork Steaks

  1. 1

    Season the Pork Steaks

Pat the pork shoulder steaks dry with paper towels and place them in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil, then sprinkle with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Rub the seasoning all over the steaks to ensure they are evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Marinate

Let the seasoned pork steaks marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature or refrigerate for up to 4 hours for better flavor.

Making the BBQ Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well mixed.

  2. 4

    Cook the Sauce

Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce the heat to low and let it cook for about 15 minutes until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat and set aside.

Grilling the Pork Steaks

  1. 5

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Make sure the grill grates are clean and lightly oiled.

  2. 6

    Grill the Pork Steaks

Place the marinated pork steaks on the grill. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on one side, then flip and brush generously with BBQ sauce. Grill for another 6-7 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).

  3. 7

    Rest and Serve

Once cooked, remove the pork steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes. Serve with additional BBQ sauce on the side.
