Method

Prepare the Tea

    Boil Water

    In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium heat.

    Add Tea Leaves

    Once the water is boiling, add 4 tablespoons of black tea leaves to the saucepan.

    Add Masala Spices

    Add the cinnamon stick, green cardamom pods, cloves, fresh ginger, and black peppercorns to the boiling water.

    Simmer

    Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing the spices to infuse the tea.

    Strain Tea

    After simmering, strain the tea into a large bowl or pitcher to remove the tea leaves and spices.

Sweeten and Chill

    Add Sugar

    While the tea is still warm, stir in 2 tablespoons of sugar until fully dissolved.

    Cool Down

    Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled (about 30 minutes).

Serve the Iced Masala Chai

    Prepare Glasses

    In a glass, add 1 cup of ice cubes.

    Pour Tea

    Pour the chilled masala chai over the ice.

    Add Milk

    Top the iced chai with 1 cup of milk.

    Garnish with fresh mint leaves and a sprinkle of ground cinnamon.
