Once the milk and cream are hot, whisk in 1 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder and 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar until fully dissolved and smooth.

  3. 3

    Add Flavorings

Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and a pinch of salt to enhance the flavors.

Adding Seasonal Flavors

  1. 4

    Incorporate Seasonal Flavorings

Depending on the season, add 1 teaspoon of peppermint extract for a minty flavor or 1 teaspoon of cinnamon for a warm spice. Stir well to combine.

  2. 5

    Serve Hot

Pour the hot chocolate into mugs, and top with 1 cup of marshmallows and a generous dollop of whipped cream.
