Espresso Preparation
1. Grind the Coffee Beans
Using a burr grinder, grind 18 grams of espresso coffee beans to a fine consistency. The grind should resemble table salt.
2. Prepare the Espresso Machine
Ensure your espresso machine is clean and ready. Fill the water reservoir with filtered water and turn on the machine to allow it to heat up.
3. Tamp the Coffee
Place the ground coffee into the portafilter and use a tamper to apply even pressure. Aim for a firm tamp to ensure proper extraction.
4. Brew the Espresso
Lock the portafilter into the machine’s group head. Start the brew cycle and extract two shots of espresso, approximately 30 ml each. Aim for a total brew time of 25-30 seconds.
5. Serve
Once brewed, pour the two shots of espresso into a pre-warmed espresso cup and serve immediately. Enjoy your double shot of espresso!
