Chai Tea Ingredients

Method

Chai Tea Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.

  2. 2

    Add Tea Bags and Spices

Once the water is boiling, add 2 black tea bags, 1 tsp of ground cinnamon, 1 tsp of ground ginger, 1 tsp of ground cardamom, and 1 tsp of ground cloves. Stir well.

  3. 3

    Steep the Tea

Reduce the heat and let the tea mixture steep for about 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

  4. 4

    Sweeten (Optional)

If desired, stir in 2 tablespoons of sugar while the tea is still warm. Adjust to taste.

Milk Preparation

  1. 5

    Heat the Milk

In a separate saucepan, heat 1 cup of milk over medium-low heat. Avoid boiling.

  2. 6

    Froth the Milk

Once heated, froth the milk using a milk frother, whisk, or blender until it is light and airy.

  3. 7

    Add Vanilla

Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract into the frothed milk for added flavor.

Assembly

  1. 8

    Combine Chai and Milk

In a large mug, pour the chai tea mixture and then gently top it with the frothed milk.

  2. 9

    Sprinkle Magic Dust

Finish off by sprinkling a dash (about 0.5 tsp) of ground nutmeg on top for that 'magical dust' effect.

  3. 10

    Serve

Serve hot and enjoy your delicious chai tea latte!
