Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Wings

In a large bowl, mix together flour, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper. Toss the chicken wings in the mixture until fully coated.

  2. 2

    Fry the Wings (First Fry)

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the wings in batches for about 8-10 minutes until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  3. 3

    Make the Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine gochujang, minced garlic, honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Stir until well mixed and heated through, about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Fry the Wings (Second Fry)

Increase the oil temperature to 375°F (190°C). Fry the wings again in batches for 4-5 minutes until they are extra crispy. Drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Toss the Wings in Sauce

In a large bowl, toss the fried wings with the gochujang sauce until well coated.

  6. 6

    Serve

Plate the wings and garnish with crushed peanuts, sesame seeds, and chopped cilantro before serving.
