Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Green Beans
Wash and trim the ends of the green beans. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
- 2
Make the Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, and water. Mix until smooth.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).
- 4
Batter and Fry the Beans
Dip each green bean into the batter, allowing any excess to drip off. Carefully place them in the hot oil. Fry in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
- 5
Drain the Beans
Remove the fried green beans from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- 6
Season the Beans
In a large bowl, combine the fried green beans with five-spice powder, salt, and ground black pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
- 7
Serve
Serve immediately as a snack or side dish.
