Method
Preparation Directions
- 1
Prepare the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon. Whisk together until well combined.
- 2
- 3
Combine Mixtures
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or a pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Donuts
Using a small cookie scoop or your hands, carefully drop small balls of dough into the hot oil. Fry in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan, for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Flip halfway through to ensure even cooking.
- 6
Drain and Cool
Once golden brown, remove the donut holes from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- 7
Coat with Sugars
In a shallow bowl, mix the additional granulated sugar and ground cinnamon together. While the donut holes are still warm, toss them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until well coated. For extra sweetness, you can also dust them with powdered sugar.
