Instructions

1. Prepare the Tofu

Press the firm tofu to remove excess moisture. Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes.

2. Coat the Tofu

In a large bowl, combine cornstarch, Hawkers five-spice seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Toss the tofu cubes in the mixture until evenly coated.

3. Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.

4. Fry the Tofu

Carefully add the coated tofu cubes to the hot oil, in batches if necessary. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.

5. Drain and Serve

Remove the crispy tofu bites from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot.
