Ingredients for Chinese BBQ Pork Baos

Method

Instructions for Chinese BBQ Pork Baos

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Rub the pork shoulder with salt and pepper. Place it in a roasting pan and cover it tightly with foil. Roast for 3-4 hours until the pork is fork-tender.

  2. 2

    Make the Sauce

In a bowl, combine hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Mix until well combined.

  3. 3

    Wok-Fry the Pork

Once the pork is done, shred it using two forks. In a wok or large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the shredded pork and pour the hoisin mixture over it. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until the pork is heated through and coated in the sauce.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Baos

While the pork is cooking, steam the bao buns according to package instructions or until they are fluffy and warm.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Baos

Fill each bao bun with the BBQ pork mixture and top with sliced spring onions. Serve immediately.
