Cheese Sauce

Method

Prepare Fries

  1. 1

    Cook Frozen French Fries

Preheat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 180°C (350°F). Add the frozen French fries in batches and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to remove the fries and drain on paper towels. Season with salt to taste.

Make Cheese Sauce

  1. 2

    Create Roux

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the flour and whisk continuously for about 2 minutes until it forms a paste (roux).

  2. 3

    Add Milk

Slowly add the milk to the roux while whisking to prevent lumps. Continue cooking and whisking until the mixture thickens, about 3-4 minutes.

  3. 4

    Add Cheese and Seasoning

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until fully melted and smooth. Add salt and black pepper to taste.

Assemble Loaded Fries

  1. 5

    Layer Ingredients

On a large serving platter, arrange a generous layer of crispy fries. Pour the warm cheese sauce over the fries, ensuring an even coating.

  2. 6

    Add Toppings

Sprinkle the crumbled bacon, sliced jalapenos, and chopped green onions on top of the cheese-covered fries.

  3. 7

    Serve Immediately

Serve the loaded fries immediately while they are hot and enjoy!
