Waffle Preparation

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar. Whisk together until well combined.

Combine Mixtures
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; some lumps are okay.

Preheat Waffle Iron
Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Cook Waffles
Once the waffle iron is ready, pour an appropriate amount of batter (usually about 1 cup, depending on your waffle iron size) onto the center of the iron. Close the lid and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crisp, usually around 5-7 minutes.

Prepare Bacon or Sausage
While the waffles are cooking, heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook your choice of bacon or sausage until crispy and fully cooked, about 4-6 minutes for bacon or according to package instructions for sausage.

Remove the waffles from the waffle iron and place them on serving plates.

Top each waffle with a generous dollop of whipped butter and drizzle with pancake syrup. Serve with the cooked bacon or sausage on the side.
