Preparation
- 1
Slice the Beef
Thinly slice the beef sirloin against the grain into bite-sized pieces.
- 2
Prepare the Broccoli
Wash and cut the broccoli into small florets, about 1 inch in size.
- 3
Mix the Sauce
In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, cornstarch, minced garlic, grated ginger, brown sugar, sesame oil, and water. Stir until the cornstarch is fully dissolved.
Cooking
- 4
Sauté the Beef
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- 5
Cook the Broccoli
In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until bright green and slightly tender.
- 6
Combine and Sauce
Return the beef to the skillet with the broccoli. Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and broccoli. Stir well to coat everything evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce has thickened and everything is heated through.
- 7
Serve
Remove from heat and serve immediately over steamed rice or noodles.
