Method

Pork Preparation

1

Season the Pork

Rub the pork shoulder with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Ensure the pork is evenly coated.

2

Brown the Pork

In a large skillet or dutch oven, heat over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned pork and sear on all sides until browned, about 4-5 minutes per side.

3

Add Liquid

Once the pork is browned, remove it from the skillet. Add apple cider vinegar and chicken broth to the skillet, scraping up any brown bits from the bottom.

4

Braise the Pork

Return the pork to the skillet. Cover and reduce heat to low. Let it braise for 3-4 hours, or until the pork is fork-tender.

5

Shred the Pork

Once the pork is done, remove it from the skillet and let it rest for 10 minutes. Shred the pork using two forks.

Avocado Preparation

6

Prepare the Avocados

Cut the ripe avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.

7

Mash the Avocados

Add lime juice and salt to taste. Mash the avocados with a fork until desired consistency is reached.
