Dumpling Filling
Method
Assembly and Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Filling
In a large bowl, combine ground pork, chopped shrimp, green onions, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- 2
Fill the Dumplings
Take a dumpling wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center. Wet the edges of the wrapper with a little water, then fold the wrapper over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Press the edges firmly to seal. Repeat until all filling is used.
- 3
Steam the Dumplings
Prepare a steamer basket lined with parchment paper or cabbage leaves. Place the filled dumplings in the basket, ensuring they are not touching each other. Steam over boiling water for about 15-20 minutes, or until the filling is cooked through.
- 4
Prepare Kochujang Ponzu Sauce
In a small bowl, mix together 2 tablespoons of ponzu sauce with 1 tablespoon of kochujang. Adjust the spiciness to your preference by adding more kochujang if desired.
- 5
Serve
Serve the steamed dumplings hot with the kochujang ponzu sauce for dipping.
