Mixed Plate Ingredients

Method

Preparation Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare Kalua Pork

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Rub the pork shoulder with salt and place it in a roasting pan. Cover with aluminum foil and slow roast for about 6-8 hours until tender. Shred the meat and mix with a bit of its juices.

  2. 2

    Cook Garlic Shrimp

In a pan, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add the jumbo shrimp and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until pink and cooked through. Drizzle with soy sauce and season with salt and pepper.

  3. 3

    Make Furikake Rice

Cook rice according to package instructions. Once done, fluff with a fork and mix in the furikake seasoning.

  4. 4

    Prepare Choy Sum Namul

Blanch choy sum in boiling water for 1-2 minutes until tender. Drain and rinse in cold water. Toss with a little sesame oil, salt, and minced garlic.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Mixed Plate

On a large plate or platter, arrange the kalua pork, garlic shrimp, furikake rice, and choy sum namul. Serve warm.
