Preparation
- 1
Make the Tart Crust
In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add cold water, mixing until the dough comes together. Shape into a disk, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- 2
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 3
Roll out the Dough
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to fit a 9-inch tart pan. Press it into the pan and trim the excess dough.
- 4
Blind Bake the Crust
Line the crust with parchment paper and fill with pie weights or dried beans. Bake for 15 minutes, then remove the weights and parchment and bake for an additional 10 minutes until lightly golden. Allow to cool.
- 5
Prepare the Filling
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the light corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth. Fold in the chopped macadamia nuts.
- 6
Bake the Tart
Pour the filling into the cooled tart crust. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly puffed. Allow to cool before serving.
