Braised Short Ribs
Cooking Instructions
1. Sear the Short Ribs
Season the short ribs with salt and black pepper. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the short ribs and sear on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
2. Cook the Onions and Garlic
In the same pot, add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
3. Add Mushrooms and Braise
Add the sliced mushrooms to the pot and sauté until softened. Return the short ribs to the pot and pour in the beef broth and soy sauce. Add the bay leaf and thyme. Bring to a simmer.
4. Braise the Ribs
Cover the pot and reduce the heat to low. Let braise for about 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the meat is tender and falling off the bone.
