Danish Pastry Ingredients
Method
Danish Pastry Directions
- 1
Prepare Dough
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. In a separate bowl, warm the milk and mix in the softened butter until melted. Let cool slightly, then add eggs and vanilla extract. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until a dough forms.
- 2
Knead and Rise
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 3
Prepare Fillings
While the dough is rising, prepare the fillings. Combine blueberries, chocolate chips, coconut cream, and guava puree in separate bowls.
- 4
Shape the Danish
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a large rectangle. Cut into squares and place a spoonful of each filling in the center of each square. Fold the corners of the dough to the center and pinch to seal.
- 5
Second Rise
Place the shaped danishes on a lined baking sheet and cover with a cloth. Allow to rise for another 30 minutes.
- 6
Bake
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the danishes for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
- 7
Garnish
Garnish with fresh raspberry leaves before serving.
