Marinade and Beef

Method

Preparation and Cooking

1

Marinate the Steak

In a large bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well. Add the flank or skirt steak to the marinade, ensuring it is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight for best flavor.

2

Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat. Ensure the grill grates are clean and oiled to prevent sticking.

3

Grill the Steak

Remove the steak from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off. Place the steak on the hot grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is achieved.

4

Rest and Slice

Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes. Slice against the grain into thin strips.

5

Serve

Serve the carne asada with warm corn tortillas, garnished with chopped cilantro and sliced onion. Enjoy!
