Mandu Filling and Dough

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Filling

In a large bowl, combine ground pork, chopped cabbage, grated carrot, chopped green onions, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully combined.

  2. 2

    Assemble the Mandu

Take a wonton wrapper and place a spoonful of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges with water, fold the wrapper over to create a triangle, and press to seal. Make sure there are no air pockets. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).

  4. 4

    Fry the Mandu

Carefully add the mandu to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 4-5 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the deep-fried mandu hot with a side of savory soy sauce for dipping.
