Main Ingredients

Dipping Sauce (Optional)

Method

Preparation of Crab Cakes

  1. 1

    Mix the Crab Cake Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and the egg. Mix gently to avoid breaking the crab meat.

  2. 2

    Add Seasonings and Green Onions

Add the chopped green onions, breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper to the mixture. Stir until well combined.

  3. 3

    Form the Cakes

Using your hands, form the mixture into small patties, about the size of a golf ball, and flatten them slightly.

  4. 4

    Chill the Patties

Place the formed patties on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape.

Cooking the Crab Cakes

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until hot.

  2. 6

    Cook the Crab Cakes

Carefully add the chilled crab cakes to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.

  3. 7

    Drain and Serve

Once cooked, transfer the crab cakes to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil. Serve warm.

Preparing the Dipping Sauce (Optional)

  1. 8

    Mix the Sauce Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine the sour cream, fresh lemon juice, chili powder, and a pinch of salt. Stir until smooth.

  2. 9

    Serve

Serve the dipping sauce alongside the mini crab cakes.
