Method
Preparing the Patty
- 1
Form the Patties
In a mixing bowl, combine the Irish-bred Dexter beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently and form into two equal-sized patties, ensuring not to overwork the meat.
- 2
Cook the Patties
Preheat a grill or frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- 3
Add Cheese
In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of American cheese on each patty and cover to melt the cheese.
Preparing the Toppings
- 4
Chop Onion
Thinly slice the Spanish onion and set aside.
- 5
Prepare Lettuce
Wash and shred the lettuce, then set aside for assembly.
- 6
Make Signature Sauce
If not using a pre-made sauce, combine your signature sauce ingredients in a small bowl and mix well.
Assembling the Burger
- 7
Toast the Buns
Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- 8
Layer the Ingredients
On the bottom half of each bun, layer shredded lettuce, the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, sliced Spanish onion, and drizzle the signature sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.
