Steamed Mixed Vegetables

Method

Crab Cakes

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine the blue crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, egg, and breadcrumbs. Mix gently to combine, being careful not to break up the crab meat too much.

  2. 2

    Season the Mixture

Add salt and black pepper to taste. Mix again gently to incorporate the seasoning.

  3. 3

    Form the Cakes

Shape the crab mixture into 4 equal-sized patties (about 1 oz each).

  4. 4

    Broil the Cakes

Place the crab cakes on a broiler-safe pan. Melt the butter and brush it over the tops of the cakes. Broil on high for about 5-6 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.

House Rice

  1. 5

    Sauté Garlic

In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  2. 6

    Cook the Rice

Add the long-grain rice to the saucepan and stir to coat with the oil and garlic. Pour in the chicken broth and season with salt and black pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is tender and has absorbed the liquid.

Steamed Mixed Vegetables

  1. 7

    Prepare the Vegetables

In a steamer basket over boiling water, place the broccoli florets, sliced carrots, and cauliflower florets.

  2. 8

    Steam the Vegetables

Cover and steam the vegetables for about 5-7 minutes until tender but still vibrant in color. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
