Hibachi Steak and Accompaniments
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, vegetable oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Place the New York strip steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- 2
Grill the Steak
Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the steaks from the marinade and grill for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Let the steaks rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- 3
Sauté the Vegetables
In a large skillet or wok, heat a tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add zucchini, mushrooms, carrots, and onions. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until vegetables are tender. Season with a little salt and pepper.
- 4
Fried Rice
In the same skillet, push the vegetables to one side and add another tablespoon of vegetable oil. Scramble the eggs in the pan until just set, then mix with the vegetables. Add the cooked rice and stir-fry everything together for another 3-5 minutes. Stir in chopped green onions.
- 5
Serve
Slice the grilled steak and serve it alongside the sautéed vegetables and fried rice.
