Prepare Caramel Simple Syrup
In a small saucepan over low heat, combine equal parts sugar and water. Stir until sugar is dissolved, then increase heat and bring to a boil. Allow it to cook until it turns a golden brown color, then remove from heat and let cool. Store in a bottle.
Mixing the Drink

Combine Ingredients
In a shaker, add the Plantation 5 yr. Rum, Bol's Apricot Brandy, caramel simple syrup, pineapple juice, and fresh squeezed lime juice.

Shake
Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.

Strain
Strain the mixture into an ice-filled glass, preferably a rocks glass.

Add Garnish
Add 2 dashes of Angostura Bitters on top of the drink for a finishing touch.
