Cajun Shrimp

Garlic Bread

Method

Prepare the Shrimp and Sausage

1

Heat the Olive Oil

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.

2

Cook the Andouille Sausage

Add the sliced Andouille sausage to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes, or until browned.

3

Add the Vegetables

Stir in the diced bell pepper, onion, celery, and minced garlic. Cook for another 5 minutes, until the vegetables are softened.

4

Season the Mixture

Sprinkle in the 2 tablespoons of Cajun seasoning, and stir well to combine.

5

Add the Shrimp

Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the shrimp are pink and opaque.

6

Pour in the Chicken Broth

Pour 1 cup of chicken broth into the skillet, and mix everything together. Allow it to simmer for about 3 minutes.

7

Incorporate the Cooked Rice

Stir in the 2 cups of cooked rice, mixing until all ingredients are well combined. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Prepare the Garlic Bread

8

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

9

Prepare the French Bread

Cut the loaf of French bread in half lengthwise.

10

Spread the Butter

Spread the 4 tablespoons of softened butter evenly over the cut sides of the bread.

11

Toast the Bread

Place the bread halves on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 10-12 minutes until golden brown.

Garnish and Serve

12

Add Parsley

Once the Cajun shrimp and dirty rice is done, remove it from the heat and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley.

13

Serve the Dish

Serve the Cajun shrimp and dirty rice hot alongside the toasted garlic bread.
