Shrimp & Grits Ingredients
Method
Cooking Directions
Make the Shrimp Étouffée
In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the onion, bell pepper, and celery, and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook for another minute.
Add Shrimp and Seasoning
Add the shrimp and cajun seasoning to the skillet, cooking until the shrimp turn pink, about 3-4 minutes. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring well. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened. Adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper.
Prepare Blackened Green Beans
In another skillet, heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Add the trimmed green beans and sprinkle with blackened seasoning. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender and slightly charred.
Serve
To serve, place a scoop of cheddar grits on a plate, top with the shrimp étouffée, and serve the blackened green beans on the side.
