Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meat Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, and Italian sausage. Add minced garlic, Italian herbs, salt, black pepper, egg, and bread crumbs. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form Meatballs

Shape the meat mixture into meatballs, about 1-2 inches in diameter. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a large skillet, cook the applewood smoked bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon, crumble, and set aside. Reserve some bacon fat in the skillet.

  4. 4

    Cook the Meatballs

In the same skillet with the reserved bacon fat, add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides. This should take about 8-10 minutes.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Dish

In a baking dish, layer the cooked meatballs, crumbled bacon, mozzarella cheese, and aged Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese.

  6. 6

    Bake

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the assembled dish for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  7. 7

    Serve

Let the dish cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your Meat Lovers dish!
