Pizza Dough and Sauce
Method
Preparation and Assembly
Prepare the Marinara Sauce
In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the plum tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Cook for 10-15 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Stir in chopped basil, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper to taste.
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
Assemble the Pizza
Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer the dough to a pizza peel or baking sheet. Spread a generous amount of marinara sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
Bake the Pizza
Carefully transfer the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or directly onto the oven rack. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and crispy.
Serve
Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a minute, slice it up, and enjoy your Marinara Pizza!
