Preparation and Cooking Instructions
1. Prepare the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine crab meat, cream cheese, chopped chives, garlic powder, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
2. Fill the Wontons
Take a wonton wrapper and place about 1 teaspoon of the crab mixture in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water, fold it in half to create a triangle, and press the edges to seal. You can also bring the two opposite corners of the triangle together to form a pouch and seal.
3. Fry the Rangoon
In a deep skillet or pot, heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the filled wontons in batches until they are golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove them with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
4. Serve
Serve the crab rangoon hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as sweet and sour sauce or soy sauce.
