Prepare the Simple Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine equal parts sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Allow to cool before using.

Juicing Limes
Juice fresh limes until you have 2 cups of lime juice. Strain to remove seeds and pulp for a smoother margarita.
Mixing the Margarita

Combine Ingredients
In a large pitcher or container, combine 4 cups of tequila, 2 cups of triple sec, 2 cups of fresh lime juice, 1 cup of simple syrup, and 2 cups of water.

Stir Well
Use a long spoon or whisk to stir the mixture thoroughly until all ingredients are well blended.

Taste and Adjust
Taste the margarita mixture and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more simple syrup or lime juice, if needed.

Chill
Refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 hour to chill before serving.
Serving

Prepare Glasses
If desired, moisten the rim of glasses with a lime wedge and dip in salt to coat the rim.

Fill glasses with ice and pour the margarita mixture over the ice. Garnish with lime wedges if desired.
