Method

Brewing the Tea

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring 16 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Steep Tea

Once the water is boiling, remove the pot from heat and add 8 black tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for 5-10 minutes, depending on your desired strength.

  3. 3

    Remove Tea Bags

After steeping, carefully remove and discard the tea bags. Ensure that no tea leaves remain in the pot.

  4. 4

    Add Sugar

While the tea is still warm, stir in 1 cup of sugar until fully dissolved.

Flavoring (Optional)

  1. 5

    Add Lemon Juice

If desired, stir in 1 cup of lemon juice for a refreshing citrus flavor.

  2. 6

    Add Mint Leaves

For an extra refreshing touch, add a bunch of fresh mint leaves and gently stir to release their flavor.

Cooling and Serving

  1. 7

    Cool the Tea

Let the tea cool to room temperature. Alternatively, you can refrigerate it for faster cooling.

  2. 8

    Serve

Once cooled, transfer the tea to a gallon container and serve over ice. Enjoy your refreshing iced tea!
