Fries
Method
Grilled Cheese Sandwich
- 1
Butter the Bread
Spread 1 tablespoon of butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- 2
Assemble the Sandwich
Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in a skillet. Add two slices of cheddar cheese on top, then cover with another slice of bread, buttered side up.
- 3
Cook the Sandwich
Heat the skillet over medium heat. Cook the sandwich for about 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown. Carefully flip the sandwich and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the other side is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- 4
Slice and Serve
Remove the grilled cheese from the skillet, slice it in half, and serve warm.
Fries
- 5
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin strips to form fries.
- 6
Heat the Oil
In a deep pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 7
Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 5-7 minutes until they are golden and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- 8
Season and Serve
While the fries are still hot, sprinkle with salt and toss to coat. Serve alongside the grilled cheese sandwich.
