Preparation of Ingredients

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef

Season the beef sirloin with salt and pepper. Preheat a grill or skillet over high heat and add the beef. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the beef is resting, wash and dry the lettuce leaves, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, and mint. Slice the cucumber into thin rounds, halve the cherry tomatoes, and thinly slice the red onion. Tear the lettuce into bite-sized pieces.

Making the Dressing

  1. 3

    Combine Dressing Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together the fish sauce, lime juice, chili flakes, and sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Assembling the Salad

  1. 4

    Mix the Salad

In a large bowl, combine the sliced beef, lettuce, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, and mint. Drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine all ingredients.
