Wonton Wrappers
Crab Filling
Frying or Steaming
Method
Prepare the Filling
- 1
Mix the Filling Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the crab meat, cream cheese, finely chopped green onions, garlic powder, soy sauce, black pepper, and lemon juice. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
Assemble the Wontons
- 2
Fill the Wontons
Take a wonton wrapper and place about one tablespoon of the crab filling in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water. Fold the wrapper over to create a triangle and press the edges to seal tightly. You can also bring the two opposite corners together to form a wonton shape.
- 3
Repeat
Repeat the filling and sealing process until all the wrappers are filled and sealed.
Fry or Steam the Wontons
- 4
Frying Method
In a deep fryer or large pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the wontons in batches and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- 5
Steaming Method
If you prefer steaming, set up a steamer basket over boiling water, making sure the water doesn't touch the wontons. Place the wontons in the basket in a single layer and steam for about 6-8 minutes until cooked through.
