Crust Directions
- 1
Prepare the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Add the chilled, cubed butter and mix using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 2
Add Wet Ingredients
Drizzle in the cold water and truffle oil. Mix until the dough just comes together. Avoid overworking the dough to keep it flaky.
- 3
Chill the Dough
Form the dough into a disc, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- 4
Roll Out the Dough
Once chilled, roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to fit your tart or pie dish. Transfer to the dish and trim any excess.
- 5
Pre-bake (if needed)
Depending on your filling, you may need to pre-bake the crust. If so, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C), line the crust with parchment paper, and fill with pie weights. Bake for 15 minutes, remove weights and parchment, and bake for an additional 10 minutes until golden.
