Tempura Fried Cheese Curds Ingredients
Method
Cooking Directions
Prepare the Cheese Curds
Pat the cheese curds dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
Make the Tempura Batter
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Slowly add the ice water, stirring until the batter is smooth and slightly thick.
Heat the Oil
In a deep pot or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
Coat the Cheese Curds
Dip each cheese curd into the tempura batter, allowing excess batter to drip off.
Fry the Cheese Curds
Carefully place the battered cheese curds into the hot oil, frying in batches for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Do not overcrowd the pot.
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried cheese curds from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
