Method
Preparing the Churro Dough
- 1
- 2
Add Flour
Once the mixture is boiling, remove it from heat and immediately stir in the flour. Mix until a dough forms and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
- 3
Cool and Add Egg
Let the dough cool for about 5 minutes. Once cooled, add the egg and mix until fully incorporated. The dough should be smooth and slightly sticky.
- 4
Prepare the Pastry Bag
Transfer the dough into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
Frying the Churros
- 5
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 6
Pipe the Dough
Once the oil is hot, pipe the dough into the oil in long strips, about 6 inches long. Cut the dough with scissors to release it into the oil.
- 7
Fry the Churros
Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Coating Churros
