Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Water and Butter

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of unsalted butter. Heat over medium-high heat until boiling.

  2. 2

Mix in Flour, Sugar, and Salt

Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt until the mixture forms a ball.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Let the dough cool for about 5 minutes, then add 2 large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

Frying Churros

  1. 4

    Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat 4 cups of vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 5

    Pipe Dough

Transfer the churro dough into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe 4 to 6-inch long strips of dough directly into the hot oil.

  3. 6

    Fry Until Golden Brown

Fry the churros for about 2-4 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.

Coating Churros

  1. 7

    Mix Sugar and Cinnamon

In a shallow dish, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar and 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon.

  2. 8

    Coat Churros

While the churros are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
