For the Carne Asada

Method

Marinating and Cooking the Steak

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the flank steak and coat well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill the steak for about 5-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Rest and Slice

Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes. Then, slice it against the grain into thin strips.
