Fajitas

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Meat

In a bowl, mix olive oil, lime juice, garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken or steak, ensuring it's well coated. Cover and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Vegetables

While the meat is marinating, slice the bell peppers and onion. In a large skillet over medium heat, add a tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sliced vegetables and sauté until soft, about 5-7 minutes. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Cook the Meat

In the same skillet, add the marinated chicken or steak. Cook until fully cooked (about 6-8 minutes for chicken and 8-10 minutes for steak), then remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before slicing.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Rice and Beans

Cook the rice according to package instructions. Heat the beans in a small saucepan until warmed through.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Fajitas

Slice the cooked meat into strips. Serve with tortillas, sautéed vegetables, rice, beans, lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, and pico de gallo for assembly.
