Preparation Directions
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Gather all your ingredients: flour tortillas, shredded cheddar cheese, shredded Monterey Jack cheese, olive oil or butter, and salt.
- 2
Heat the Pan
Place a non-stick skillet or frying pan over medium heat and add olive oil or butter. Allow it to heat until shimmering.
- 3
Assemble the Quesadilla
On one flour tortilla, sprinkle half of the cheddar and half of the Monterey Jack cheese evenly. Add a pinch of salt for flavor, then place the second tortilla on top.
- 4
Cook the Quesadilla
Carefully transfer the assembled quesadilla to the heated skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side until golden brown and the cheese starts to melt.
- 5
Flip and Finish Cooking
Using a spatula, gently flip the quesadilla over and cook for another 2-3 minutes on the other side until it is golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
- 6
Slice and Serve
Remove the quesadilla from the skillet and let it cool slightly. Cut it into wedges and serve immediately with chips and salsa on the side.
