Method

Marinating the Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine the olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, ground cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

Grilling the Steak

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat (about 450°F to 500°F).

  2. 4

    Grill the Steak

Remove the steak from the marinade and let any excess drip off. Place the steak on the hot grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness.

  3. 5

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for about 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Assembling the Tacos

  1. 6

    Slice the Steak

Thinly slice the grilled steak against the grain.

  2. 7

    Prepare the Tacos

Warm the corn tortillas on the grill for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

  3. 8

    Build the Tacos

Place a few slices of steak on each tortilla. Top with diced onions and chopped cilantro.

  4. 9

    Serve

Serve the tacos with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.
