Method

Preparation of Beef

  1. 1

    Marinate the Flank Steak

In a large bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the flank steak and coat it well with the marinade. Allow it to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for better flavor.

Grilling

  1. 2

    Prepare the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Ensure that the grill grates are clean and lightly oiled to prevent sticking.

  2. 3

    Grill the Steak

Once the grill is hot, place the marinated flank steak on it. Grill for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness (medium rare is recommended for best flavor).

  3. 4

    Rest the Meat

Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. This helps retain the juices.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Prepare the Onion and Cilantro

While the steak is resting, finely chop the onion and cilantro. Squeeze the juice of the lime over them and mix well.

  2. 6

    Slice the Steak

Slice the grilled flank steak against the grain into thin strips.

  3. 7

    Assemble the Tacos

Take a corn tortilla and add a portion of the sliced steak. Top with the onion and cilantro mixture. Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.
